Scholarship Advisory Committee

Thank you for interest in serving on a Scholarship Advisory Committee for the Community Foundation for the CSRA! Your time and thoughtful participation play an important role in helping us recognize the hard work and potential of students across our region. Through your efforts, we are able to connect deserving students with educational opportunities that can help shape their future and strengthen our community.

The Scholarship Advisory Committee is a group of dedicated volunteers who help our foundation carry out its mission of expanding educational opportunity for students in our region. Committee members bring their life experiences, professional expertise, and community knowledge to the scholarship review process, providing thoughtful and objective recommendations on behalf of the community. As advisors, committee members:

  • Review scholarship guidelines and criteria established by the foundation or scholarship donors.
  • Evaluate applications for eligibility and merit, considering factors such as academic achievement, financial need, leadership, community involvement, and other relevant criteria.
  • Collaborate with fellow volunteers to discuss and assess applications, either independently or in group review sessions.
  • Identify finalists and recommend recipients based on established criteria.
  • Acknowledge and adhere to foundation policies, including confidentiality, nondiscrimination, and conflict of interest disclosures.
