A proud Augusta native, Matt brings over two decades of experience in service-driven leadership to his role as Director of Development and Fundholder Services at the Community Foundation for the CSRA. Before joining the Foundation, Matt served in pastoral leadership across North Carolina, Metro Atlanta, and the CSRA from 2001 to 2021, where he developed a reputation for relational leadership, vision casting, and building meaningful community partnerships.
Matt’s approach to philanthropy is shaped by a unique blend of faith, purpose, and hands-on experience in both ministry and construction. He holds a B.S. in Building Construction and Contracting from Georgia Southern University and a Master of Divinity from Duke University. His continued professional development includes certifications in ministry entrepreneurship, church development, executive coaching, and other leadership resources & programs.
At the Foundation, Matt works closely with donors and nonprofit partners to inspire generosity and strengthen the region’s philanthropic ecosystem. He thrives on connecting people to purpose and helping others invest deeply in the place they call home.
When he’s not meeting with fundholders or collaborating on community projects, you can find Matt on the golf course, cheering on UGA football & Duke basketball, or seeking other outdoor adventures on his bike or a trail. He is the proud parent of two adult children—a daughter pursuing a Nurse Practitioner degree at UGA and a son pursuing a future in law at Georgia State.
